This Leisure Caster is handcrafted using natural finishes, including milk paint on the poplar body and a French polished maple neck for a rich, high-gloss finish. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eClear Coated in a thin poly urethane for a high gloss finish, the splatter and dark chocolate base coat are from an all natural low VOC milk paint\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe neck is finished in shellac using a wipe on technique known as a \"French polish\", enhancing the wood grain and all of its natural beauty.  It has been a traditional finish used for classical instruments for generations, giving the neck a natural feel that allows the hand to glide along free from resistance. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eShellac flakes are made from the purified resinous secretion of the female lac bug (Kerria lacca), which is harvested from trees in India and Southeast Asia.
