What sets The Leisure Caster Apart:
Simplicity, beauty, and craftsmanship are the North Star, guiding every detail of this instrument.
Built to be played across genres, anywhere, anytime. The Leisure Caster is handcrafted using natural finishes, including milk paint on the mahogany body and a French polished maple neck for a rich, high-gloss finish.
Most guitars built today use a thick coat of poly urethane, but the Leisure Caster utilizes milk paint instead, which is a natural, non toxic finish that leaves a thin, softer coat that allows the wood to resonate, speak freely, and age naturally and beautifully with time.
*This Guitar body is finished with a thin layer of shellac over the milk paint to give it the yellowed look
French polish is a wipe on technique for applying shellac, enhancing the wood grain and all of its natural beauty. It has been a traditional finish used for classical instruments for generations, giving the neck a natural feel that allows the hand to glide along free from resistance.
Shellac flakes are made from the purified resinous secretion of the female lac bug (Kerria lacca), which is harvested from trees in India and Southeast Asia. This raw resin, known as lac, is collected, washed, melted, filtered for impurities, and dried into thin sheets, which are then broken into the flakes.
